Palm Throws 22 Million Customers Under The Bus

It's official, Palm Inc. Dumps PalmOS.

As foretold in my 10 January entry, Palm has ruthlessly abandoned all of their current customers. According to Palm's investor website there are "22 million users of Palm Powered devices."

Palm president Ed Hoolligan Colligan told investors that PalmOS is being officially retired, and that the company's Centro platform will be the last to use the software.

"There will be no more PalmOS products," he said. "We will transition to webOS as our core operating system, in addition to supporting Microsoft Windows products in the enterprise segment of the market."

Absolutely, shameful, scandalous corporate effrontery.
